(It's a no brainer for Eddie to go out to the hospital on his own for the sake of one simple mission: art supplies. He had spent enough time in the children's ward of hospitals to know that there was usually some of them laying around. That had been back in the fifties too. As it turns out, modern children's wards were even more filled up with supplies than the ones back in his time line had ever been. He has two artistic friends to shop for and he takes his time with it. It had been surprising how colorful and cheerful the place was, and he idly wished the fifties had been half as considerate. It was a little eerie seeing the children's ward in partial ruin though, but he had steeled himself for the sake of Bill and Jake.
Eventually, after a couple hours of thorough looting, Eddie brings his stash back.
This means that Bill will come back to his room to find a gift sitting on his bed. An actual sketchbook (it had had a few drawings in it already, but the majority of it was completely blank), loose sheets of papers, and an entire box of crayons, some watercolor paints and paint brushes, colored pencils, and some ordinary pencils and pens. There was even a pencil sharpener too as well as odds and ends supplies that he had found such as clothespins, colored poms, some ribbons, markers, scissors, glitter, and some fuzzy pipe cleaners. Eddie wasn't so sure Bill would use or like all these things, but he figured it wouldn't hurt to stock up. All is left on his bed on top of a baby blanket he had found (clean) just for sake of neatness.

On top of the stack he had left a small note:
Create something awesome, Big Bill.
Love,
Eddie)
